1. Can you tell us what first inspired you to undertake a project of such a grand scale and ambition, and what motivated you to bring Escapology to life?
I have been in contact with the town of Guatavita for more than 30 years. We found this place to be magical for family gatherings. It’s a strategic place for adventure sports. And I wanted to share my experience of growing up in this special place. The project is in the sales stage to the public. We still have units available. It opens for public sales on July 21st of the current year.

Escapology embodies my unique design philosophy and aesthetic vision through its integration of minimalist principles and emphasis on functionality. The project reflects my personal style, which prioritizes clean lines, efficient use of space, and the incorporation of natural elements. These elements are prominently featured throughout Escapology, creating a harmonious blend of modernity and environmental consciousness that defines my design approach.
3. Could you elaborate on the specific geographical features you have incorporated into Escapology, and how these features enhance both the sustainability and the livability of the development?
Sustainability and livability are enhanced through the strategic use of the site’s natural features. The development maximizes solar orientation for passive heating and cooling, incorporates indigenous landscaping to reduce water consumption and promote biodiversity, and utilizes natural drainage patterns and permeable surfaces for effective stormwater management. Outdoor amenities are seamlessly integrated with the natural terrain, offering residents both aesthetic appeal and opportunities for community engagement. These design choices prioritize environmental stewardship and quality of life, creating a harmonious and sustainable living environment in Escapology.
4. In what ways do you envision Escapology impacting the local community and tourism industry in the region, and what long-term benefits do you hope to achieve?
Escapology aims to benefit the local community and boost tourism by integrating sustainable practices and enhancing the region’s appeal. Through its commitment to sustainability and local culture, Escapology seeks to attract eco-conscious tourists, thereby supporting local businesses, cooperatives, and the broader market. The project will generate direct and indirect employment opportunities during both the construction and operation phases, stimulating economic growth and enhancing local infrastructure. By fostering economic opportunities and promoting local craftsmanship, Escapology aims to create lasting benefits, including job creation, skill development, and overall community prosperity..
5. Can you share more details about the unique experiences that residents and guests can expect to enjoy Escapology, and how these experiences set the development apart from other luxury properties?
Escapology complex features a convention center with a 360-degree view of Guatavita and Tomine Reservoir. It includes a restaurant run by an international chef and various sports and recreational spaces for its residents, such as a spa, rowing club, a 5-a-side soccer field on grass, and a paddle tennis court with the best view of the lake. Additionally, it offers a very comfortable hotel with unparalleled views. Escapology is located 200 meters from Guatavita town and boasts an unbeatable view of Tomine Reservoir.
